Highlights:
- Two highly prospective tungsten showings identified
- 50,000 m˛ soil anomaly outlined
Target: Tungsten
Location:
The Obvious Project is located in south central Yukon Territory approximately 120 kilometers northeast of the city of Whitehorse.
Ownership: 100%
History:
Tungsten mineralization in the area was first discovered in 1978 by CUB Joint Venture (Cassiar Asbestos Ltd., Highland-Crow Resources Ltd. and Union Carbide Canada Limited). The joint venture explored the property with grid soil geochemistry, geophysics (EM and magnetics) and geological mapping in 1979 and 1981. Results of this work were followed up with bulldozer trenching in 1983 which did not reach bedrock over the areas of interest.
Two showings were identified on the property:
- The Kubla Showing consists of a float train of scheelite bearing, magnetite rich material that extends for over 200 meters down a steep talus slope. Assays of specimens range between 1.5 and 6.0% WO3*.
- The Khan Showing is a 50 m long float train of similar mineralization that occurs on a steep scree slope about 100 m north of, and parallel to, the Kubla float. Specimens of mineralized material grade up to 6.3% WO3 while averaging between 1 to 2% WO3*.
Grid soil sampling in 1979 in an area about 1 km southwest of the Kubla and Kahn Showings, returned exceptionally anomalous values of up to 50 ppm tungsten and 1000 grains of scheelite over a 50,000 m˛ area*.
The Kubla and Khan showings as well as the soil anomaly identified have yet to be drill tested.
*Historic results pre-date the implementation of NI 43-101 and although believed to be reliable by management should not be relied upon as such.
