Yankee Hat Issues 5,830,888 Common Shares

Vancouver, June 26, 2009 – Yankee Hat Minerals Ltd. (“Yankee Hat” or the “Company”) (TSX-V: KHT) announces that it has closed the first tranche of its previously announced private placement of 10,000,000 shares (the “Offering”). The Company has issued these shares at an offering price of $0.04 per common share (the “Shares”).

The Insiders of the Company who participated in this Offering are P. Bradley Kitchen (800,000 Shares) and Cale Thomas (250,000 Shares) and the sole Pro-Group participant was Bill Godson.

A seven percent finder’s fee was paid to the following finders: $4,800 to Raymond James Ltd., $1,400 to Haywood Securities Inc. and $1,400 to Sal Western Enterprises Inc.

The Shares issued from the Offering are subject to a hold period until October 27, 2009 in accordance with the policies of the TSX Venture Exchange.  This Offering is subject to final TSX Venture Exchange approval.

The net proceeds of the private placement will be used on the Company’s exploration projects in the Yukon Territory.
